Q: Facetime/imessage log in error on macbook 10.11.6.

Hello,

I am having issues with my Factime/imessage login on macbook 10.11.6. I did all the appleid verification online and my facetime/imessage perfectly works on my iphone. I deleted all the antivirus from macbook and did restarted my macbook several times. But, I am still not able to login on facetime/imessage.

I did read all the replies regarding this issue but, all the replies weren't helpful at all. So, I need a good reply that actually solves my issue.

NOTE: I contacted apple support and the representative who I talked to tried everything to solve my issue but, she wasn't able to resolve the issue. So, she set up an appointment with senior Tech for next day. I was on phone with senior tech and he told me to do run something that was sent on my email but, my macbook took forever to complete that run. So, gave up on that as well.

Now, I am looking for the reply that actually will resolve the issue.issue.png

As I mentioned I don't have activation issue, I have login issue. My facetime/imessage works on my iphone with the same email id and password. I already did all the troubleshooting from apple support.

I have the same problem with both Messages and Facetime.  Both apps worked fine on my Macbook pro a few months ago on Yosemite.  Don't think I've used either since the upgrade to El Capitan until I tried signing in today.

    Any ideas?

    Hey all,

This problem ended up resolving itself for me. I called apple support initially, but they couldn't figure it out. They took some of my log data so that the engineers could analyze it and come up with a fix. This problem started occurring on july 28th for me. I randomly tried signing in again today and both iMessage and Facetime ended up working. I know this wasn't a result of me calling, because they said they would email me with any updates or solutions that they figure out. This must've just been an issue with the servers or something. Definitely call Apple support and get your claim in there just so they have it on record...but i think the real solution is to just wait a few days. Wait 4-5 days to see if it resolves itself.

It finally worked today. There is "NO SOLUTION" to it no matter what people say. I had this issue since June 2016. I did nothing and finally on Aug 6, 2016, I tried login and it worked. So if you are having this issue then I am saying again there is "NO SOLUTIONS" to it other than trying once a week and restarting and updating softwares. It might take months before it starts working.

FYI: I talked to apple tech twice regarding this issue and both calls lasted for almost an hour. But, they couldn't help. Lastly, you will have to try at least once a week and one day you will be happy when it works.

    Good Luck!!

Exactly the same for me, I was finally able to sign in.

Never the less, the issue will be back soon.

Apple should find a solution to this asap
