May 21, 2016 3:58 AM in response to nagpaiby Mike Sombrio,It's possible that your HDD cable is faulty. Many users have reported that their Mac wouldn't boot with an SSD unless it was connected through USB but the HD worked fine and changing the cable fixed the problem. If you've set the SSD up properly, and I assume that you have since it will boot, I'd look at the HDD cable next.

May 21, 2016 10:27 PM in response to nagpaiby nagpai,I have seen some videos claiming the issue can be solved by shielding the cable with insulation tape wherever it makes contact with the metal body.. Will that work?

May 22, 2016 4:15 AM in response to nagpaiby Mike Sombrio,The issue can be solved, if that is indeed the issue, by replacing the cable. If you're going to go through the trouble to install shielding why would you not replace it?

May 23, 2016 10:18 PM in response to nagpaiby nagpai,I just tried putting the SSD drive via optical drive port via caddy. Experiencing the same issue, which indicates the issue is not with the cable.. rather something to do with the SATA controller onboard and incompatibility with the SSD i have.
