iBooks

Q: How does an Audiobook get loaded to iBooks when it downloads as a music album?

I purchased an audiobook thru the iBooks store on my iPad and it only shows as requiring to be downloaded in iBooks. But it is available in Music!! How does Apple get items purchased in iBooks fixed so they show up as books, not as an album of songs? The audiobook version of Terry Pratchett's book titled "Equal Rites" appears to almost load when in iBooks, but never shows as being available for listening. When I look at My Music in the Music APP, "Equal Rites" appears there as an album with 3 songs. The embedded description shows it as an audio book.

From my understanding of your issue, you purchased an audiobook by Terry Pratchett called "Equal Rites" but it's not showing up the iBooks App on your iPad that's running iOS 9.3.3. Since iOS 8.3, the audiobooks purchases should show up in iBooks, I'll be glad to help. Remember to check your iBooks app for that audiobook after every step. Feel free to skip anything you've already tried.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch -- Before attempting any troubleshooting steps, I always advised having a fresh backup of your device to keep your personal information safe.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- Never underestimate the power of a good restart.

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups -- There are times when an update fails to install properly. Since iBooks is part of the iOS, you'll need to completely erase your iPad and set it up as new to test. Using your iPad's settings only erases your personal information.

Follow the direction in that article and set up your iPad as a new iPad when asked. Sign into iTunes & App Store and iCloud and re-download/sync the audiobook back to it.
