Q: Force El Capitan boot camp to accept 32-bit Windows 10 install

I have an older I-Mac 27 from late 2009. I boot camped it to run Windows 7 32-bit when I got it. The HDD recently went out and I got a new one and installed it myself. After an all day affair I finally got it installed. Then I had problems boot camping it to install a 32-bit Windows 10 iso. The boot camp gave me no option to make a bootable USB. After hours of searching I found a workaround and edited the info.plist under boot camp and input the command in terminal. That solved the problem and gave the option of creating a bootable USB. Then I get hit with the message that boot camp only supports 64-bit iso. What is this mess? Does anyone know a workaround for this? Is there something else I can do to edit the plist file to force it to work? This is crap to have to go through this much trouble just to install my stuff on an older machine. This machine still has serviceable life in it. This is the last Apple product I have in my house. Once this is through that is it for me.

Pardon my frustration, but this link is useless to me. It only speaks of 64-bit Windows 10. My machine is the 2009 model of the I-Mac 27 with the Intel Quadcore Processor. It is the 32-bit model, NOT 64-bit model. The only other option on your link is to upgrade from a 32-bit Windows to a 64-bit Windows. I have tried to install 32-bit in Boot Camp, but I get stopped saying it only supports 64-bit. A 64-bit program will not install on a 32-bit machine. So essentially I am stuck and have no way to install my 32-bit Windows 10 on this machine. That is unless someone has a workaround. I was able to get Boot Camp to give me an option to iso a USB drive. Then I hit the dead end of 64-bit only being supported. Very, very frustrating to make it this far and being hit in the head by Apple.

All I want to do is install my copy of Windows 10... This is the reason I can't stand Apple products. They control way to much and lock everything down so tight it is not useful. Makes me wonder who actually owns my machine after I bought it. I won't make that mistake again!

The reason I posted the link was so one, you would see there isn't a way to install Windows 10 32bit,  and two, your machine doesn't support running Windows 10 via Boot Camp. I thought it would save you some time doing something that's not possible.

There is the fact that your iMac was manufactured 7 years before Windows 10 was released. It makes it difficult for Apple to design a computer that would support an OS that no one at the time knew would even exist.

Initially I had Snow Leopard and Boot Camped it to Windows 7. Took it just fine. Later I had a forced update to Windows 10 and by this time I had updated OS X to Yosemite. My old HDD still works and believe I can clone the drive. Since it will be the same as it was before SMART picked up the problem. This is the only Mac I own and everyone else I know has a Windows based PC. Do you know a workaround to clone the drive on a Windows based PC? What software would you suggest to do it?

    Sorry I don't. I've never cloned a Windows PC.
