Q: Switch video input in settings

INside SETTINGS is quite easy to sitch AUDIO input and output devices, but I can't find a similar menu for VIDEO.
I have more than one webcam and one is actually a driver that changes the iPhone into a webcam.
Many chat softwares (Facetime, skype, etc) let me switch between sources, but some apps (mostly apps that are NOT chat apps) go for the default one, and often.. is the wrong one!
How can I switch between VIDEO  SOURCES?
If NOT, where are the drivers so I can delete what I don't need manually?

Thanks

Mac mini (Late 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

Just individual apps that show video have  preference for what input to use.

    There is not global preferences.

What do you mean by drivers? Most video like USB ones are the standard driver provided with OSX.  If a video device added it own driver then you would have to contact support for that device to where it is located.

However, I do not understand how deleting drivers ill help your "problem"

I downloaded an app called Pocketcam on my iPhone and on my MacMini. The app changes the iPhone in a webcam for the MacMini. I don't really need it if not once every year or so, but, for some reason, this "camera" (but is not really a camera .. is just the camera "driver" because the iPhone is NOT connceted) almost every time is selected as DEFAULT. In Skype, Facetime, etc... I just go in settings and switch to my other REAL camera (A Logitech device connected on the USB port). But some apps I am using that do other things that chat/phone but have a VIDEO INPUT (for example for Augmented Reality) don't let me switch between cameras and just go with the default one.
Hope is clear. I find very strange this thing. Mac has AUDIO settings/switches but not VIDEO!

Just uninstall the iPhone webcam app.

I t would be hard to have global video in setting since it would have to know all the apps that have a video input option

I already  uninstalled the app (on the MacMini)... first thing I did...  but the "driver" is still there!
I don't understand why is so complicated as you say... Facetime (an Apple application) knows exactly what cameras (or virtual cameras like this one) are available. So.. in the same way... OSX/SETTINGS could know and enable/disable/priority the same list of devices. After all, that's how it works in AUDIO for example, both with real devices (microphones) or virtual (like soundflower).

But FaceTime is an Apple app so that is easy for Apple.

See if you can find a .plist file for the app you installed. Then if found delete it.

Not infrequently, uninstalling an app leave remnants.

That's why I was saying.. IF for Apple is easy.. WHY didn't they put in SETTINGS PANEL a switch to select video sources as we have for audio sources.. very strange

As you can see... the "driver" of this "virtual camera " PocketCam appears in my HARWARE configuration.
How can I remove it ???
    Producer is NOT answering.. vanished...

The easiest way to completely uninstall the pocketcam software is to use the uninstaller they provide.

That is normal, because in order for the OS to recognize the "camera" there has to be something in the system (probably a kernel extension), which does not go away just by deleting the program from /Applications.

    GREAT !!! It worked.
I guess I was not the only one that was having this problem if they had to make a separate uninstaller to download.
    Thanks !
