Q: Cannot sync Ipod 4th generation
A used Ipod 4th generation (iOS 6.1.6) was purchased to provide music at home. All attempts to sync to an existing iTunes library have failed. Details:
Library exists on an external drive on a Windows 10 64-bit desktop system. Connecting the iPod via cable to that system causes the iPod to persistently beep with no other explanation of beeping. Connecting the iPod to a laptop with Windows 10 32-bit does not cause beeping. The iPod was fully reset on arrival. WiFi is configured.
The laptop had iTunes 12.4.2.4 installed. Although Home Sharing was enabled on both desktop and laptop, the laptop did not show the library until it was copied onto that system. So now the laptop has the music library and shows the iPod connected. The sync process shows going through steps 1 & 2. At step 3 it quickly says "Finished update". The iPod's iTunes does not show any music; settings show >28MB available.
