In a digital world, it's backup. backup and backup.
Hope you learned from this.

Jul 29, 2016 7:23 PM in response to johnmorkesby elcpu,Long shot but worth a try. Open a browser on a computer, go to iCloud.com and log on to your account from there. Small possibility that if you had backups to iCloud enabled, some data could be there. Nothing to lose in trying.... but do so asap like now.

Jul 29, 2016 9:30 PM in response to ckuanby johnmorkes,Wow! I replied to you and Apple deleted it.
I learned.
I learned Apple knew of this problem. The LEAST this company could have done is to tell people to back up in its prompt to update IOS.
I was not told at store to update.. nor any other time. Apple says there's a prompt when using iTunes to back up on iCloud. I don't use iTunes, so I never got that.
If this company is going to prompt you to update, the LEAST it could do is tell people they could lose their data (through no fault of their own) and should back up before updating.
