Q: iBooks/iCloud problem: all books turned into "Encrypted Files"

I have recently uploaded all my iBooks (PDFs and epub files) onto the iCloud / iDrive with the iBook app on my iPad. Worked fine for a while, but when I wanted to use iBooks after a few weeks of non-use, none of my uploaded iBooks were visible in iBooks. I looked into iDrive, and there is an iBooks section, which appears to have all my former iBook files (15 GB) , but each file appears as "Encrypted File". I have no clue on how to decrypt these files so that I can use them again.

The iBooks interface shows only empty shelves.

I am not sure what triggered this loss of all my books. Does anyone have any idea how I could get my books back?

Overall I must say that I am quite disappointed with the whole iCloud / iDrive system. It took forever to upload the files, the data transfer is extremely slow, and I am not even able to upload iBooks from my PC to the iCloud. I have much better experiences with Google Drive or Dropbox, which work seamlessly across all, platform. I assume that the iCloud / iDrive only works well in an all-Apple setup

The glitches have probably been introduced when Apple moved the entire iBook to sync via iCloud. The idea was great but the result is a little less great. I have tried the following with no success:

1- from iBooks on my Mac copied everything into a folder (named say "sort_ibook") on my desktop.

2- in iBook on my Mac and on ALL my iOS devices DELETED ALL BOOKS and PDFs on EVERYWHERE and EACH TIME on EACH DEVICE.

3- Now copied back into iBook on my Mac all the files that I had previously copied into my "sort_ibook" folder on my desktop.

4- Result: ALL is back as it was ! Not ANY single device is synced and they have ALL reverted back to the files they contained before (even though I changed the name of some files to see if indeed the sync was working - and it is not ... whilst when I delete everything all iBooks App are empty but as soon as I copy back the Books and PDFs files into iBook on my Mac then ALL other iOS devices are "synchronising" back to the SAME files (including names) they had before I deleted them all from any devices and iCloud storage space. That means a same file is with a different name on my iBooks on my Mac and with a different name on iBooks App on my iPhone and iPad .. yes even two iOS devices are not with the same content in their iBook. This is just crazy.

Another 3 hours of my time lost on iBooks. THANKS.

note: I also noted that one of the file in my iBooks on my Mac is giving for its size "EB" and not "MB". What is "EB" : "Extreme Bytes" ? .... that's weird. An actually the file show in double but with a different name when I change the name of the file it should be ; its different name being the original name it won't give up ... really weird.
