Q: How can I delete all photos on iphone and keep them on iCloud?

Hi,

I'm trying to free up space on my iPhone and wish to delete my photos stored there.  I dont want those deletions to synch to iCloud and delete those photos from the Cloud.  My iCloud has plenty of space.  Just want my phone freed up by deleting all photos that have already been backed up to the Cloud.

Thank you.

Turn the iCloud Photo Library off before you delete.

In addition to turning iCloud Photo Library off like Csound1 told you above, I would import the photos to a computer. I have responded to many users who have lost their photos because they did not understand the process.

Back up your photos and videos

When you turn on iCloud Photo Library, your photos and videos automatically upload to iCloud. They're not duplicated in your iCloud backup. But we always recommend that you keep back up copies of your library. You can download your photos and videos from iCloud.com to your computer and store them as a separate library, transfer them to another computer with Image Capture or Photos, or store them on a separate drive.
