Jul 30, 2016 8:40 AM in response to LarryS1by macjack,★HelpfulHi Larry, do not use MacKeeper! It has borked many Macs. It is practically malware.
If you installed it, uninstall it.
Manual Uninstall Mackeeper
1. Open MacKeeper.
2. Quit MacKeeper.
3. Go to Applications folder and drag MacKeeper to the Trash.
4. Enter your admin password.
5. A pop-up window appears asking if you want to Uninstall the rest of the components.
6. Click Uninstall MacKeeper.
7. From Finder choose “Go” menu > Go to Folder.
8. Enter ~/Library/Application Support.
9. Find a file called NoticeEngine.plugin. Drag it to the Trash.
10.Restart your Mac (Apple > Restart).

Jul 30, 2016 8:39 AM in response to LarryS1by OGELTHORPE,★HelpfulMalwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac is an excellent tool for finding and ridding a MBP of adware and malware. However please understand it is not an application that will protect your MBP. It will only address those items that it may find currently on your MBP and does not run constantly in the background. Always download a new copy of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac to scan your MBP because it is constantly being updated. Old versions may miss newer malware/adware.
Ciao.
