Q: artists are displaying more than once in sync window

iTunes version 12.2.4. In the sync window on the right hand side under "Artists" some artists are listed more than once.

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

A:

iTunes cannot add artwork to tracks in .wav format, which are read only, or for which you don't have the correct security permissions. See Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows to address the last two possibilities.

See Grouping tracks into albums for general background and tips on iTunes organization. In particular any given artist name should be spelt consistently wherever it appears in both artist and album artist fields, and always have the same sort value associated with it.

Thanks.. I will checkout the link you provided. What I found that works is the following: I deleted the text in the "Album Artist" column, Quit iTunes, then reopened iTunes. The multiple repeating of the artist was no longer evident.

Another question while I have you here. I am unable to add artwork to some of my playlists (Albums). I download from the web (Amazon, Discogs, LAST FM) and move them into the add artwork area, Sometimes all is fine, but other times nothing happens...

Thanks... the files were wav files... I converted them and the artwork slid right in to place. What a great community...
