Q: How much will I get if I recycle my early 2015 MacBook Air?

I'd like to know how much I'd get if I were to recycle my early 2015 MacBook Air to Apple. Keep in mind, this MacBook has had no damage done to it.

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Depends on the exact specs. You can get a tentative quote here:

You would do better than submit the fairly recent device to

a recycler, if you were to sell privately to a known person or

if an independent computer shop does consignment selling.

Even a craigslist sale, given if you safely do so, would get more.

An ebay sale too, or working with someone who uses  amazon

may be a way. Not all the processes in the Apple recycle site link

may apply; values will be less than market, & often only gift card.

If you were going to try & buy again from the Apple Store or

    their online site, Apple may offer a value against new item;

but generally not near actual retail you could walk away with.

Several sites online offer to buy computers; most pay little or

near nothing and then have someone check them out, & resell.

The profit motive is a driving force in re-sale of 'recycled' Macs.

Best outcomes in whatever you choose to do. I'd ask an AASP

    • Find an Apple Authorized Service Provider an independent

Apple computer service provider who also has a retail store,

if they occasionally buy a 'like new' Mac, or consign-sell them.

Before you actually get rid of the Mac, see steps here:

    Good luck & happy computing!
