Q: Slideshow: Can I trim songs to begin at certain spots in project?

I am creating a slideshow project in Photos. First I attempted this is iMovie, but with a big learning curve and time constraints, I am using Photos instead.

I have a few hundred pictures and 3-4 songs.  I would like to choose the exact point in the project that each song begins, instead of having the four songs evenly divided by the movie length. Can't figure out if this is possible.

Thanks.

No, that's not possible in Photos. There's a workaround that you could use.

1 - select all of the photos you want to play with song #1 and create a separate slideshow.

2 - export that slideshow as a Quicktime file.

3 - do the same with the photos for song #2, #3 and #4.

    4 - import slideshows #1 thru 4 into Photos.

5 - create a slideshow with those 4 quicktime movie files.

Not elegant or quick but doable.

    Thanks, Old Toad.

By the time I read this answer, I had finished the project.  I ended up using just two songs and having the slides fit to music.  It will be good enough.  I would have liked to learn iMovie well enough to use some of the cool features I'm sure it has, but with time constraints I couldn't manage it.

    I appreciate your answer!
