Q: unfamiliar icon that I would like to know the meaning of

folder icon.png

Sorry about the poor image quality but some of my folders look like this.  Can you tell me what this folder icon means versus just a regular looking folder icon?

Might the folder really look like this?  If so, it's a user's folder.

In any event, it might help if you tell us what type of information is stored in the folder (e.g., user information, library, system, application).

    System icons are stored here

Finder>Go>Go to Folder   copy and paste:

    /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources/

yours appears to be third party variation.

it actually doesn't look like that.

    The "head" is a sphere

The "body" looks like part of an oval.

I looked through the "resources" folder that you pointed me to.  I assume you wanted me to look through that folder to see if I notice the mysterious icon in there.  I don't see it in there.  Although that may have been what you were saying in your post (that it's not a native iOS icon).

I am seeing the icon for a bunch of folders.  I can't recall the exact history of these folders but I believe I had a bunch of them shared with another person or two using Onedrive (this is Microsoft's version of icloud).  I may have also had them stored in Google Drive (and shared there).
