Q: Screen seems to leave behind a "burned in" impression

i just purchased a new Apple Watch yesterday and today I have noticed that there seems to be an impression / "burned in" blurs left on the screen when moving through my screens.  Is this normal or is this a problem?  Hopefully I explained this good enough but I've attached pictures.  The bright white says "no notifications" from that screen but the red and orange blurs are what I'm talking about. And no it's not reflections causing it image.jpegimage.jpeg

    Take the watch back. It's definitely covered by the warranty,

    That should not happen.

    Hi

    That is normal.

    You are referring to an intentional visual effect that is designed to echo the content of the underlying screen.

    This transparency effect appears whenever you view certain screens that sit over the top of others, for example:

    • When viewing Notification Centre (by swiping down when viewing the watch face screen);
    • When reading a notification;
    • When opening Glances (by swiping up when viewing the watch face screen).
    • When using Siri.

    The feature does not precisely mirror the content of the underlying screen. Instead, it adds a transparency effect that includes blurring / ghosting. The effect can serve as a helpful reminder that you are viewing - for example - Glances or Notification Centre, each of which can be exited by swiping down or up on the screen.

    If you would prefer to disable this feature:

    • On your iPhone in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > General > Accessibility - turn on / enable the setting for Reduce Transparency.

    Turning this setting on will stop the transparency effect from being shown on your watch's screen.

    There is no fault with your watch, nor any need to return it.

    It is operating as expected. If you would prefer not to see that effect, simply disable it via the setting described in my previous reply.
