Jul 1, 2016 6:27 AM in response to sereyratanakby Dpetz72,We have had very similar experiences. I however was approved for the replacement, and I've just received it. If you are getting the same problems, contact me (Dpetz72) I will get you some direct lines of communication- my service experience was awful until I spoke with the provider I am currently working with.

Jul 6, 2016 9:23 AM in response to Dpetz72by aberbs,Curious if my Mac Pro is affected or if I'm just driving it too hard. I have the D300s and am running triple 4k displays at slight scaling 3008x1692. I notice when I first boot up and there are no windows on my screen everything runs at a reasonable framerate with limited stutter. As I get into my work day and have all my programs opened (around 12-15 windows) I begin to notice serious stutter. Is this to be expected with the D300s? Apple's site says its able to drive 3 4k displays but I have to say I'm a little disappointed with the stuttering and frame drops while working.
Thakns.

Jul 6, 2016 9:25 AM in response to aberbsby aberbs,Also in addition to what I stated above, occasionally one screen will flicker off completely for 1-2 seconds before coming back on. Also notice some graphical glitches and such throughout the day.

Jul 8, 2016 5:49 AM in response to if84by batmandan,I thought my issue was solved, then yesterday the machine ground to a halt, it was still responding but with a delay of 60 seconds or more. Eventually a message appeared on the screen "your system has run out of application memory". I've got 32Gb RAM, and over 100Gb free on boot drive. I had Safari, iTunes and Notes open.

The first message was repeated several hundred times.
After reboot it's fine so far, but very worrying as the warranty is now out.

Jul 27, 2016 11:43 AM in response to batmandanby batmandan,Anyone with the D300's should get the ribbon cables replaced. this has fixed the issue for me. Just unfortunate that the symptoms are the same as the recall on the other 2 models

Jul 28, 2016 9:26 AM in response to batmandanby jorenjm,Hello,
A few months ago I experienced the 'GPU driver appears to be hung' problem almost every day. So, I brought it back to the store. Two weeks later I went back to pick the mac up, they said the D300 GPUs were replaced. That evening, I think it took about 5 minutes until the spinning beachball was there again. So I brought the mac again to the store and said that the issue was still there. Three weeks later (I think June 25), I received the mac again but this time the employee said he didn't receive information about what the repair center had done :/ Back at home I had to configure OS X again so I assume they just reinstalled OS X this time. Surprisingly, the issue didn't came back until yesterday. And it could be coincidence, but yesterday I installed El Capitan 10.11.6.
At this moment I think that the graphic issues are related to the OS version (in my case 10.11.5 was a good one then). However, my assumption could be totally wrong of course.
@batmandan Are you already using El Capitan 10.11.5? If yes, I should definitely get the ribbon cables replaced!

Aug 1, 2016 5:55 AM in response to AR3DARCby cmdrDenis,IIssues was reported and dump data indicated Apple is aware and we are supposed to get free graphics cards replaced according to senior advisor who never sent me a case number or the contacts info, the usual stuff name email, phone number and ext never received from now 77 senior advisors, why not Apple now even senior customer department some never return my calls, graphic issues we are aware of but senior advisors issues should never be found so consistently.
if Apple is aware as I am told anyone else ever had these graphics cards replaced?
what was done 4 times taken to Apple Store to do 30 seconds green light testing hardware was told was perfect then wham the issues of Amd driver cause failed cards on my system.

Aug 1, 2016 6:15 AM in response to jorenjmby batmandan,Hi, jorenjm I am running 10.11.5 and have never had 10.11.6. The first thing I did when getting the machine back was to wipe the flash and restore my time machine backup, so it's running exactly the same OS (10.11.5) as it was when it was crashing every day.
I haven't had the slightest problem since it's come back so it really does seem the ribbon cables have fixed the issue on my machine.

Aug 1, 2016 6:55 AM in response to cmdrDenisby batmandan,Which computer do you have? The known graphics issues are only related to the D500 and D700 Mac Pros. The D300 computers show similar symptoms but replacing the graphics cards does not fix the issue.
-
Aug 1, 2016 7:44 AM in response to batmandanby jorenjm,I have the D300 Mac Pro, and indeed my graphics cards were replaced but that didn't help.
-
Aug 1, 2016 7:51 AM in response to jorenjmby batmandan,They replaced the graphics cards in mine also, and it still failed during testing in the store.
I was sceptical about the ribbon connectors being the culprit as at that time I hadn't found anyone else saying that replacing them fixed theirs, but it does seem to have fixed the issue in my case.

Aug 1, 2016 5:53 PM in response to batmandanby jorenjm,That is very interesting! And did you have exactly the same error as me in the console: "GPU driver appears to be hung (over 5 seconds of unreadriness)"?
-
Aug 1, 2016 6:04 PM in response to jorenjmby batmandan,Yes that is the error I would see in the Console. The same error that some people get on the D500 and D700 computers.
The computer was running - I was able to ssh/RD in and reboot it. I was also able to make the display come back on by disconnecting all Thunderbolt devices and displays, waiting a few minutes and plugging them back in. It wouldn't run properly though, the clock would have stopped and it would be a little sluggish. A reboot would fix the issue until it reoccurred, which was always after waking from sleep or just after the screensaver came on.
