Q: How do I remove a title that appears in the upper right hand corner of my TV when playing AirPlay from Safari?

So, I made a video for my in-laws some time ago named "Dryland Organics, 2016" (just drone footage with a soundtrack) and to test how it would look I AirPlayed the generated m4v file to my ATV4, which for some reason put a title overlay for a few seconds with the title of the video. I didn't think much of it.

Now however, every time I AirPlay any video off of my computer, or my wife's, it shows that title, it doesn't matter what video or its source, it just overlays "Dryland Organics, 2016" at the beginning, every time.

How do I remove that?

I can make a video if the problem's not clear.

Thanks!

Apple TV, tvOS 9.2.2

Have you tried restarting the Apple TV and iTunes on the computer and trying again.

Definitely, restarted both the computer and the Apple TV. Though I haven't tried signing off and on. I don't really even understand why it shows that title though, no AirPlay instance I've ever used has shown a title before, be that a Safari player, Quicktime, iTunes, or iOS app. Not sure at all where that overlay is coming from.

I don't understand why it's there either, I've never seen anyone mention anything like this before and you don't ordinarily see anything in the top right corner when you engage AirPlay. Do you have any accessibility features enabled.

Hi, the overlay is remembered by AirPlay on the ATV. Have you actually restarted ATV, not just sleep/wakeup? There's a restart item under Settings>System. Or hold Menu and Home until the ATV LED flashes.

not that I'm aware, but let me go double check...

... nope, everything there is off. I also took the liberty of checking most other settings and I couldn't find anything related to an AirPlay title.

I'm trying to publish a video on YouTube with the issue, but it failed twice now from my phone. I'll show write another reply as soon as it's ready.

yes, but let me try again right now. Maybe second time is the charm.

... wouldn't you know it. This time it went away.

Maybe the first time worked too and I just AirPlayed the video a second time, I don't know. But why would this Overlay not change to something more relevant? Should I submit this as a bug to Apple?

It may be a bug, but it's likely just leftover debug code. I've found it to be kind of unpredictable. Sometimes you see the new URL when starting AirPlay, and sometimes you see an old URL when starting a new AirPlay. I've seen the name of an old music track when starting an unrelated video.
