Q: Mac stalled at log in page
I typed in my password at log in page and computer is stalled, won't proceed and the little beach ball spins. Nothing
else happens. Unable to shut down computer to start over. HELP!
iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

- Try resetting the SMC and NVRAM/PRAM

- Try starting in Safe Mode

- If yo have another user account try logging into that account.
- Boot to Recovery and repair the startup disk

- If it is repairable reinstall the OSX

- If you do not have a backup use disk utility to restore the internal disk to an external disk so you can try to recover data.
Then format the startup disk and do a fresh install of OSX
