Q: I need help getting my i pad to be useful.....can you help me out.....?

Hello....the i-pad i have is useless....because i cannot get it set up to operate....have had this  thing since june of 2014.....cannot even get started because the i cloud passcode i had is no longer usable.....and could not get it to take it again....shut me off....i would like to use all the same codes that were assigned originally.....otherwise i have to start from scratch once more.....
