Q: Macbook Pro - battery and charging issues
I have a late 2014 Macbook Pro 15" (Sept. 2014). Over the last few days, I have experienced what appear to be issues with either the battery or the power adapter. I am up-to-date on OS X (10.11.6).
First, with the power adapter plugged in and power supplied to the adapter, the charge light would not come on when attached to the Macbook. After plugging it back in a few times and connecting and disconnecting it from the Macbook it eventually came on an continued charging.
This morning when I booted up the Macbook, the battery icon appeared with an "X" through it, indicating the battery was not found. After rebooting the Macbook, the battery was OK.
Are these issues indicative of something more serious that needs to be addressed? Any insights are appreciated.
Mike

Have you looked at this link: About Mac notebook batteries - Apple Support about batteries? At the top of the page on the right column you’ll find some troubleshooting steps. Start there first. (I’d begin by resetting the SMC:) Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support
