Q: Any way to turn off an unwanted "feature?"

I find the Location line of Calendar a convenient place to enter starting mileage for appointments. Calendar, however, wastes time trying to turn this into an address. Is there any way to turn off this unwanted "feature?"

iPod touch (5th generation), iOS 8.1.2

    I can type a number into the location field, but calendar just seems to accept the value. No sign of it taking any time or trying to create a pin on a map. I'm running iOS 9.3.3 so it could be a factor of which version you run. I suspect there isn't a control you can toggle, but hunt around in settings just to be sure.

    Thank you for you input. I also use iOS 9.3.3. I have looked through the options and turned off everything to do with Location Services but to no avail. The only control I have is by turning off wifi, which is at best inconvenient. The Calendar app seems to be getting the location info from some giant on-line database. "231567" (for example) gets me an address in Nebraska, among other places. The list, which can be long, seems to be sorted with places closest to me first. My wife's iPad also does this.

    Ah, presumably US zip codes. I'm in the UK and 231567 does nothing eventful here. Try typing say M231567 to see if that has an effect on the lookup feature.

    Interesting! Entering "M231" gets me "Manchester, England." I've also just confirmed that my wife's [identical to mine] iPod also has this irritating feature. I will continue to experiment and thank you.
