Q: TIFF files, why aren't they visible among networked computers?

Can anyone explain why TIFF files on iPads do not show up when viewed from a connected computer?  For instance, TIFF files on an iPad (in Photos) are not visible from a MacBook Pro, both with most up-to-date systems and software.  Other files types can be seen, but not TIFFs.
I've experienced this among different computers and different applications when looking

What gives?

iPad, iOS 9.3.3

Maybe I should modify this question, since there were no responses.  The TIFF files are not visible WITHIN APERTURE to be imported.  The are contained in iPhoto on an iPad.  Other image types (jpeg, for instance) are visible when trying to import to Aperture from the same application on the same iPad, but the TIFFs just don't show up.  I tried using other applications (iPhoto on Mac, Image Capture) and this invisibility is the same regardless of which application is used.
