Q: Photos not showing up on Camera Roll

This morning, my husband and I were snapping some photos of my daughter.  I opened my camera from my lock screen and when I went in to view them they were there.  After turning off my screen, I went in and unlocked my phone to view them again and they're all missing from my camera roll - actually noticed that everything that was taken, or sent to me and saved since Monday afternoon is missing!  I have a message at the bottom of my photos app that says "restoring" with a spinning wheel, which has been there and running for about an hour now.  My phone's memory is running now so I have gone in and deleted a bunch of aps, freeing up 3 GB of space thinking that was the issue but it hasn't helped.  I'm hesitant to do a hard reboot and loose these photos for good....has anyone come across this before, and if so, have any suggestions on how I should proceed that's not going to mean loosing 3 days of photos of my 10 month old baby girl?  thank you!

    Hi there hljweston!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. I snap many photos myself and know how critical it is to retain those memories. We've got a few things here that will certainly help. Because your Photos application says "Restoring", the photos may be synced with iCloud. Have a peek over the items in this article:

Get help with your iCloud Photo Library

If the photos are located on iCloud.com, you can access or download them right to your Mac or PC. If the items are there, feel free to close your Camera and Photos application by double pressing your Home button and swiping the application windows upward to close. Re-open these applications and confirm that the photos are returning.

    Have a phenomenal day!
