Q: Convert Movies within Photos

Hello all :-)

I have the following problem, where I need a practicable solution:

- I have about 500+ movies in Photos spread over many different moments/albums, collected over years

- Thumbnails of the movies are shown but when I click them, photos can’t play them because the codec is not supported any longer (divx)

- Previously in iPhoto with QuickTime7 and the Perian-Plugin this was no problem

Goal:

- I want to convert all the movies to a current common format (e. g. H264, MP4)

- But I do NOT want just to export all movies and then reimport, because than I will need month to reorganize them to the correct Album, Moment etc., and maybe the timestamp etc. pp is lost…

- Is there any solution for this problem, maybe by using an AppleScript and processing the subfolders in the Photos-Lib directly?

Thank you.

Kind Regards, mack

No, sorry.  If you modify the original master files of your videos directly in the library, it will break the connection between the versions you ar seeing in Photos and the originals. You could no longer access the the videos in the albums.
