Thanks for your reply. I can't understand why Apple dropped support for this product. It's not like if it was a dangerous or insane piece of hardware.

If kext(s) are missing , kexts from previous to El Capitan will not work since starting with El Capitan Apple tightened up driver signing using System Integrity Protection (SIP)

Oh, yes, I remember having read this in the past. Well, I prefer disabling SIP than having no video output on that device; now, it's a matter of finding the missing kext(s).

I've spend some time in trying to compare the IORegistry components (using the IORegistryExplorer application found in Apple Developer tools); since I have several Mac OS versions installed, I could compare the trees in both 10.8 and 10.11. Mainly, differences are about how data is stored (several numbers in 10.8 are now raw data in 10.11); some fields are missing in the 10.11 version, but I can't identify a meaning field for the problem.

I'm now thinking of using my TimeMachine backup to go back to 10.8; that's a shame. I wish Apple drivers would be less cumbersome to deal with.

Still hoping for an idea…
