Q: DVI to Video adapter not working since El Capitan

Hello,

I have been using Mac OS 10.8 until today, with an Apple DVI to Video adapter (RCA); those are not sold anymore.

Today, I thought I'd finally try to be up to date with 10.11, thinking I could work around anything that could break in the process (I was wrong, perhaps…).

My adapter is no longer recognized; “system preferences”, in the monitors pane, shows my 3 other screens (I have a 2008 Mac Pro with 2 graphics card; one card has two VGA outputs and the other has 2 DVI outputs; they are all used), but doesn't show my adapter; “System Information” doesn't either.

My only guess would be there's a kext file missing between 10.8 and 10.11. This DVI to Video adapter is somewhat mandatory for me as I use it often.

Any idea welcome.

Mac Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)
