Q: Will I lose my files if I stop Migration assistant half way through?
I have just bought a new Macbook Pro and started to transfer files from my old Mac last night using Migration Assistant via Wireless. i realise now that I should have used an ethernet cable becaust it is taking 12 hours to move the data across. What will happen if I interrupt the process and do it again later with a cable. Will I lose my data?

The data on the old Mac shouldn't be affected, since it only sends over data. But the status the receiving Mac will be in after you abort the migration, is uncertain. If you want to play it safe, let it run its course.
