Q: migration assistant

How do I transfer files, etc., from my MacBook Pro, ver 5.1, 10.6.8 to a new MacBook Pro? Instructions for Migration Assistant don't seem to support that method. Both computers have firewire 800 ports.

Did you boot the 10.6.8 Mac in Target Disk Mode

Then connect both Macs via FW and then run Migration Assistant on the new Mac?
