Q: Safari works slow / Slack doesn't load

Hello, community!

I have troubles with Safari as it takes longer to open a link comparing to Chrom, that I am using now. I also can't open a Slack (business chat) app. As a girn from the Slack support said the app is based very strong on safari functionality so I think this is a reason why it doesn't work.

Software part:
El Capitan 10.11.5 (15F34)

Does anyone know how could I fix the problem? I already deleted cache and browser history, deleted and reinstalled Slack app but it didn't help.

Best regards,

Arseniy

Check top sites -- and remove any you don't want -- top sites refresh and will reload if you just delete the cache.   Even if you don't use top sites - remove apples top sites (you must edit them out - using the reset will reset to apples list) - and keep an eye on them.

Another issue can be RSS sits as they also refresh.

Unfortunately Slack still doesn't want to load. Safari works faster though. What else could I try?

Safari - Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues

Safari doesn't load a page or webpage items are missing

Safari/other browsers – Website not loading

Try going to Safari/Preferences/Extensions and disable all extensions. Quit Safari, reopen, and see if the website will now load. If so, enable extensions one or two at a time until you find which extension is causing the problem.

Check for plug-ins that might be causing the problem.

Open the hard drive level Library/Internet Plug-ins. Remove all plug-ins except the default plug-ins, nslQTScriptablePlugin.xpt, Quartz Composer.webplugin, or QuickTime Plugin.plugin. Also remove files from Input Methods, Input Managers, and Scripting Additions. Test. If the problem is solved, return the added plug-ins/files until you find which one is causing the problem.

In Finder hold down the option/alt key while selecting the Go menu item. Select Library. Open Library/Internet Plug-ins. Remove all plug-ins. Also remove files from Input Methods. Test. If the problem is solved, return the added plug-ins/files until you find which one is causing the problem.

    Learned from Carolyn Samit.

It could be a change in Safari not picked up yet by Slack.   Have you rechecked all of your settings for Safari?

On an upgrade to new OS - or and update to your existing OS have noticed that with Safari and network setting - apple does not pick up your current settings they just default them to what they think everyone should have.
