Q: PB G3 (Wallstreet) sits spinning on start up

Hello,

I have a Powerbook G3, Wallstreet, that just sits at the start up screen with the spinning circle. What am I able to do to to get past this? Is it also worth getting a new battery for it or is it fine running off the power cord?

What OS version is it running?

Have you tried starting in Safe Mode? That means pressing and holding SHIFT while booting until you see a notice that you are in Safe Mode or have a usable desktop. If you get a desktop, don't try using the computer at this point. Extensions you need will not have loaded, so now try a regula rstart and see if thigns progress.

Do you have Apple system disk from which to try booting?

    Hey,

I just tried that. I got the restart sound twice (so it restarted while I was pressing the key) but now it's just the Apple logo and the spinning wheel. Do you have more suggestions?

    Thank you,
