Q: duplicate, unreadable .(dot) files appear when I display images from macbook on TV using USB drive

Hello,

I am trying to display images taken from my macbook onto a Sony TV with a USB drive, but when I select the folder with the images, there is a duplicate file for each (.jpg or .png) image with a .(dot) in front of the filename. These duplicate 'dot' files are not readable by the TV and ruin the presentation by displaying an embarrassing black 'image cannot be displayed' screen between each image. These 'dot' files are invisible when I put the USB in my macbook. I understand they may be 'metadata' but I really just need the images to show on the TV, it should be as simple as that, right?

Thank you,

chediego

well, you'd think it would be that simple, right? not quite. Check the TV's manual to see what image format it might like

and display. Oh, and make sure your USB drive is formatted as Fat 32/ ExFAT only

then transferrring them to your newly formatted USB drive and see if that works OK, or not. apparently this works, but it's all gibberish to me...

"connect USB storage device, then press Home, then play button I(and choose Media), then choose photos, then press

cross button ((the big circular one), then choose USB device to play back from, then cross button, then choose folder/file, then press cross button again, apparently the folder can have 3 numbers and 5 letters, and the photos themselves can be .jpg, .jpe or  .jpeg,  DCF or Exif is supported, image codec is RAW. You can also have it do a slideshow by going to settings, then inputs, then USB auto start, then Browse Photos, then Start Slideshow. It also mentions something about photos must be stored in a folder under the DCIM folder for automatic playback start..."

I think i've had enough of this for now
