Q: iPod Classic and TV Shows Error

So I have an old iPod classic that I've recently started using again, but it seems unable to sync the TV shows I own. It can sync music just fine, but even having the sync settings set to "all TV shows", it can't. When I try to, the iPod acts like it has nothing to Sync. Even more curious, I had a movie and a few music videos on it from a while ago and they play fine on the iPod.

The shows are definitely downloaded on my system, and I can play them on my PC. I found some old advice that recommended I download a "iPod Version" of the show, but I can't find any option like that.

I have a Windows 10 OS with iTunes 12.4.3. The iPod runs version 2.0.5.

    Hey there RockDHouse,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! Based on what you're describing, you're having issues syncing TV shows that you purchased to your iPod classic. I'll be more than happy to provide you some information to help out.

It's possible that the file format of the TV shows you're trying to sync is not compatible with your iPod. Some older iPod models are only able to sync and play SD versions as opposed to HD. Check out this support article for more details and suggestions:

If your videos from iTunes can't be played on your iPhone, iPad, iPod, or Apple TV

    Take care!

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, the TV shows I am trying to sync are all Standard Definition, so HD cannot be the problem.

However, it is still possible the iPod can't take the current format of the video files. Looking at the Tech Specs from the link you provided, is there a way to tell if the file is incompatible, and if so, a way to obtain a compatible version? I should also mention I am not getting any errors when I try to do this.
