Q: sync phone to itunes

I downloaded the latest version of Itunes but it still doesn't show the icon for my iphone so I can't sync or change phone options. How do I fix this?

    Unfortunately, you did not tell us the exact version number.

     

    "The latest version of iTunes" may well not be the current version.  This would be true if your operating system is older than OS X 10.8.5.

     

    So you need at least OS X 10.8.5 (current is OS X 10.11.6) to run the current iTunes (12.4.3).  if your iTunes is much older, it will not recognize any iOS 9 device.
