Aug 6, 2016 2:41 PM in response to Uill D.by Wayne Contello,Provide more detail about the document and where it is stored, when you last opened it, where you are editing it (what devices) etc.
A shot in the dark:
try logging out if iCloud then reboot and log back in.

Aug 6, 2016 8:22 PM in response to Wayne Contelloby Uill D.,The document is stored on iCloud. I use it on an iMac with El Capitan and a laptop with the same. It seems that the trouble started after I opened it on my iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 9.2.1. it is running version 2.6.2 of Numbers. I've updated both my laptop and iMac to the latest El Capitan versions (10.11.6) and Numbers (3.6.2). It won't open the one document. it opens all others. I tried to open it on my phone and it states the same thing, that I need to update the software. I tried to log out of iCloud on my laptop and then rebooted. That did not solve the issue.
