Q: Editing Apple Music Tags...

I was wondering whether my edits to Apple Music tags in "My Music" are saved server side or not?

I don't want to spend time correcting tags if they are simply going to disappear when I format my PC.

Anyone know for certain?

Cheers

    Hi there phixi0n,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities.  It's my pleasure to answer your questions about editing ID3 tags on Apple Music.  I've been using iTunes and Apple Music a long time and I know how important it is to be able to save information specific to your collection.

ID3 tags are not saved to Apple Music but you can still save your information by backing up your iTunes library.  The article below discusses how to back up your iTunes library to an external drive.  This way even if you have to format your PC hard drive, you'll have a backup of everything you've done with your iTunes library, down to the ID3 tags:

Manage and back up your iTunes media library

Best wishes and enjoy your music!

    Hello,

I've been in touch with Apple Support and apparently the changes to tags are saved server side.

This theory is backed up by multiple devices seeing the same (edited) tags when logged in to the same account.
