Q: kindle app on iMac cannot connect with the network.

I messed up my Kindle for Mac app and used Clean My Mac3 to uninstall the app. I then reinstalled the Kindle for Mac App and after launching the app I got the message "Unable to Connet, Please check your NetWork Settings and Proxy Configuration". I have tried everything under the sun from suggestions on the internet and from my own 31 years of working with Apple Computers and the solution to fixing this problem eludes me. I have an iMac Retina 5K display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), 3.5 Ghz intel core i5, 8 GB ram. More computer then i probably need, but I had a need for speed. l know there are other's out in internet land that has had the same problem and I am hoping someone has found a solution or shall we all petition Amazon for help.

Never use third party so called cleaning apps such as Clean My Mac. That app has managed to corrupt your network settings.

    Open the Finder.

From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder

Then type or copy paste the following:

    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

Click Go then move all the files from the SystemConfiguration folder to the Trash.

Then restart your Mac and try the Kindle app.

Your Mac wil re generate a new SystemConfiguration folder for you.

Thank you for the advise however your suggestion didn't work and Kindle App still can not find the Network. My network has been working just fine for every other functions i perform. I have two iPads connected, one Macbook Pro, Apple TV and a Kindle Paperwhite besides my iMac. Oh and two iPhones.  I have no problem with the iOS Kindle app on both of the iPads.

The problem with the Kindle App on the iMac first came to light when I tried to download a book from Archives to read it on my iMac and that's when the problem began. Also Amazon had just updated the App a few days before the failure.

After throwing out those System Configuration files is there any settings i need to do over?
