Q: Delay in Connecting to Internet at Startup

When I start up my Mac Pro, the computer and all apps start very quickly;  but for some reason, there is a long delay in being able to connect to the internet.  This never happens on my MacBook Air, only on the Mac Pro.  It happens each and every time.  It is very aggravating when I need to jump on the internet and check something very quickly!

I can't for the life of me figure out what would be causing the long delay in connecting to the internet.  On my MacBook Air, I can open Safari or Firefox immediately upon startup and surf right away.  On the Mac Pro I have to wait and wait before the computer will connect to the internet.
