Q: Can someone tell me how/if I can connect my very old Macbook Pro (from 2007—OS10.6.8) to my HD TV?

The first thing to do would be to identify exactly what MacBook Pro you have and by extension what ports it has.

Assuming it is a MacBook Pro 3,1 ,

it should have a DVI port.

You can use a DVI to HDMI adapter and an HDMi cable to connect your Mac to the Tv.

Generally speaking if your MacBook Pro has a port that can fit the adapter (DVI) then yes the adapter should work.

A 4,1 a 3,1, and a 2,2 will have the same DVI type of port, and the adapter will work.  Use the How to identify MacBook Pro models - Apple Support  link to positively identify your Mac.
