Q: Has scrolling in Calendar month view been disabled in El Capitain?

Have just updated to El Capitain.

One thing I have noticed is that you can no longer scroll up and down in the month view of Calendar... Is this correct, or have I done something wrong..?

The benefit of scrolling in month view was you could see a 4 or 5 week period that began on any week, which was hardly for planning events around the end or beginning of a month, as you could scroll that to be in the middle of the view and see 2 weeks either side. Now, it seems I cannot do that....

Kindest Regards

Dave

I think I have narrowed down the problem and found the cause.

I am using an Apple Mouse (wired USB) and I discovered, today, that it is simply the scroll ball on the mouse that the app now (after update from Yosemite) does not recognise (it did in Yosemite, but not now in El Capitan). I connected a trackpad to the "affected" Mac and that does make the calendar scroll as I expect. But the scroll ball on the mouse does not.

I did not suspect the scroll ball on the mouse as it works OK in all my other normal apps. Calendar is the only app that I have (so far) discovered where it does not work).

It was only when I updated my MacBook Pro to El Capitan, as well, and checked that calendar scrolling worked OK on that, that I thought to unplug the mouse from the Mac Mini and try it on the MacBook Pro, where I knew the scroll worked. When I plugged the mouse into the MacBook, the app would not scroll using the scroll ball, but did using the track pad.

That's when I decided to try a track pad on my Mac Mini.

So the problem is that the scroll ball on the Apple Mouse does not appear to be fully integrated into El Capitan (or El Capitain's calendar).

Maybe this knowledge might help somebody else.

Scrolling is broken in my Calendar app too. Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad (internal and external trackpads!) both don't scroll. First I thought it might be a Better Touch Tool related problem but it exists even if I don't run it.

So this might be still unsolved.

Maybe related: pinch zoom on trackpads also stopped working for me on both trackpads.

This also just happened to me out of the blue today. It was working this morning, I haven't restarted or anything, and suddenly find i can't scroll.

magic mouse and late 13 27" top spec iMac. Very Frustrating!

    Rebooting should resolve the issue.

I submitted a bug report but I can't reproduce the issue since then.

I have this same issue and your post DID HELP!   I never would have looked at my generic scroll wheel mouse as the culprit.   My work laptop is on a "standing desk" making the touch pad impractical, so I use a generic wired mouse that does EVERYTHING else without issue, but like you, I found I couldn't scroll in month view and have battering myself silly trying to find that "hidden setting" I must be not able to find..

Nice to know it's NOT me or my ability to located a preference setting!  Frustrating that the thumbwheel on my mouse, which scrolls everything else without issue won't help me scroll through my calendar...

    Thanks!
