Q: iphoto

Recently I was updating my iPhoto on my mac.  After the new iPhoto uploaded, I was asked to transfer my photos into the new iPhoto from the same device.  It stopped part way through saying I do not have enough HD space to do move. But now I can not access my photos.  And I am not sure how to un-install the new iPhoto and move some items to gain space.  Any suggestions on how to get to my photos!?  I am not super savvy when it comes to computers.

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

There is no new iPhoto as iPhoto has been discontinued and the last release was iPhoto 9.6.1 getting close to two years ago now - you probably are talking about the new and totally different application Photos 1.5

where is your iPhoto library located? How much free space do you have on your Mac?

    Thanks so much for helping!

I only have 9.59 GB of free space left.

I do see my "movies" are taking up a lot of GB so I may try to move most of them to a hard drive and then see if Photos works.

And I just always though my iPhoto library was in iPhoto...but now when I click iPhoto it pulls up the screen to transfer my library but says there is not enough space to do so.  I am only transferring it to the updated version of iPhoto or Photo 1.5 as you mentioned....I think....
