Updated my sons iPad2 and everything went well but it is asking to log back in with my Apple ID.
Asking you to log in where?
But after attempting is says that I can't use that ID. It is the same ID that shows in the hint above the log in and password is correct.
Where are you seeing this?

Aug 9, 2016 9:22 AM in response to oldvilleby Diana.McCall,As a first step, try a restart, hold Sleep and Home buttons until the Apple appears. This fixes a lot of woes. Then follow Demo regarding getting past this mystery login.
Do you know what iOS version you had before? Was this a big step in versions, or just an update from an earlier 9.3?

Aug 9, 2016 11:11 AM in response to Diana.McCallby oldville,I Have done that and it always take me to a screen to login to my apple id.
No big jumps from update to update.
The ID and password are correct it says I can't use the ID because it's no longer in my iTunes as one of my devices.

Aug 9, 2016 12:56 PM in response to Demoby oldville,I can not download anything at this point. My Apple ID in iTunes doesn't recognize the iPad because it's not listed in my devices anymore. So they are not connecting to each other so I can log in on the iPad. Do you know how to add the device to my iTunes Apple ID So I can log in?

Aug 9, 2016 4:58 PM in response to oldvilleby Diana.McCall,This message sounds bogus to me, the part about not being listed in iTunes. Could you please quote the exact message text? An Apple ID is just an Apple ID. Has the device been reported lost or anything?
Is there any chance your young son has modified any criticsl Settings? Have you configured Restrictions to keep him out of trouble,?

Aug 9, 2016 5:55 PM in response to Diana.McCallby oldville,Under the Activate iPad Apple ID login:
"o****@S****.com" cannot be used to unlock this Ipad
The email above is my Apple ID & Password are correct and I have logged into my Account & iCloud with NO problems.
In iTunes under my devices the iPad is no longer listed there. So the iPad wont connect to my itunes account to finish activating.

Aug 10, 2016 2:36 AM in response to oldvilleby Demo,I Think what you are saying is that iTunes does not see the iPad as an associated device and I'm not sure why that would happen now. Do you have more than 10 devices already associated with your Apple ID?
IF you can not resolve this any other way, you should contact Apple/iTunes Support for help. You can try here.
Contact Apple for help with Apple ID account security - Apple Support
Or email iTunes Support here.
