Q: How long does it take to upgrade to El Capitan? It's saying 1 day 22 hours.

Is this real or is something wrong??

Your download and/or update stalled. Restart your Mac (use the physical Power button if you have to) and try again.

Hey! It might not be your laptop. If the download is continuing even though it says 1 day and 22 hours then its just your bandwidth connection. Most people are paying for more then what they are receiving. If you could give me a speed test from

    http://www.speedtest.net/

and the amount it says when you download something (mb/s) and your internet service provider. I could determine a solution for you.

I had this problem too and speed test showed my wifi was performing well.

I tried over several days, changed DNS settings, followed every bit of online advice I could find, didn't make any difference. Sometime it would load as much as 200Mb then just "fail".

What DID work was I used my 4G phone, hot spotted it to the laptop, used the phone as the link.... 2 to 3 hours later all 6GB of El Capitan downloaded. Massive relief

It might be worth a try, it worked for me. Good luck, I know how frustrating it is!

Same for me with a speed test at 60 Mbps the download speed for OS X is 200 Kbps and constantly hangs up.

    HAS to be Apple's servers!
