Q: Mic on earbuds picks up sounds but not voice

Hello. Im sorry if this isn't the correct section to post this.

Ive had my apple earbuds for almost a year now and they haven't presented any issues, until now and i don't know what its about. The thing is that the microphone isn't picking up my voice completely, i have to basically put them in my mouth so it can detect just a bit of my voice, but when i reproduce some music on my computer or what ever, it captures that sound as if i was recording it. I tried skype, facetime, teamspeak and nobody can hear my voice, but they do hear the music i play on the computer. The center button and the volume buttons are working perfectly, i just have that specific problem with the mic.

I tried plugging them into my IPhone and it still doesn't capture my voice.

Thanks for the help!

If you tried it on multiple devices and the earbuds have the same issue, it's clear that the issue is with the mic, not the iDevice.

If your iPhone is still under AppleCare warranty, so are the earbuds, so get them replaced for free. Otherwise, you'll have to buy replacement units, which do not need to be by Apple, if you're concerned about the cost.
