Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. It looks like your iPhone gets hot and drains battery while watching YouTube videos, but when you watch videos on other apps, it is fine. I like to watch videos as well and I depend on my iPhone not getting hot. I will be happy to help you with this.
The first thing I'd like for you to do is to close out of the YouTube app and simply power the iPhone off and back on, then test.
Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issues persists with the iPhone getting hot, please check for and install any YouTube updates in the App Store. Then please create a backup of the iPhone, either in iTunes or iCloud.
How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Once you have a current backup of your iPhone, please delete the YouTube app and reinstall it and test. If that didn't resolve the issue, please Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings and set up as a new device. Then go to the App Store and download the YouTube app and test it to see if the issues return. If the issues don't return, go ahead and restore from a backup and test again.
Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup
If the iPhone is performing as it should, you're all set. If the issues come back, then you would want to restore as factory new and then just add your information back in. You can also reach out to the YouTube support, as well.

Thanks for doing those steps. Since this seems to be only happening with the YouTube app and persists after restoring the iPhone as new and re-downloading the app, we have narrowed it down to something occurring in the YouTube app. You'll want to reach out to YouTube support, as they're the experts on the YouTube app. Welcome to the YouTube Help Center.
Have a great day!
