Aug 10, 2016 2:15 AM in response to a.cimolaiby Kenneth2322,Preview won't let you export PDF to Pages or Keynote. There are a few PDF converters at the Mac App store that can output pages or keynote from PDF. You can try this app, not free, but it can keep the original formatting well after conversion.

Or try those online PDF to Word conversion websites, most of them are free for small PDF files, but Word is not fully compatible with Pages, so when you open docx or doc with Pages, the original formatting may not be retained.

Aug 10, 2016 2:14 PM in response to a.cimolaiby VikingOSX,PDF is a final format architecture that will not cleanly convert to proprietary Apple document formats. You can get the text out of a PDF either as plain text, or attributed text without needing to buy anything, by simply opening the PDF in Preview, or another PDF viewer, and copy/paste that content over into an open Pages or Keynote document.
Many of the so-called PDF to Apple iWork conversion tools promise more than they deliver, and you will spend considerable time restoring the original formatting found in the PDF.
