Q: keynote glitch

I have tried to open some presentations in the last week or two, but get the following message:

"Its time to update! To open this presentation you'll need the latest version of Keynote"

I have downloaded the latest version twice but I still get the same message. Is there anyone who can help me sort this out? I have some talks coming up soon......

Thanks,

Jim

The latest version of Keynote is 6.6.2 for El Capitan and Yosemite.

1 - Open Keynote from the Applications folder then go to:   Keynote > About Keynote and verify it is the correct version that is opening. If it is not version 6.6.2, delete Keynote in the Applications folder, empty the trash then install from the Mac App Store.

2 - Start a new presentation, place a shape on the slide, save to the desktop, then close Keynote. Double click the file to open it again, does it open correctly?

3 - Right click the test Keynote file created in 6.6.2

    select Get Info

click the Open with dropdown menu and select Keynote 6.6.2

    click the Change All button

Thanks. I am running 6.6.2 and I can create a new presentation, then open and close it as you suggested. I have followed step 3, but it hasn't helped, unfortunately. I am still getting the same message, telling me that I need to update. The presentation that I am trying to open was created with the previous version of Keynote 6.

    Any other suggestions?
