Q: Part of my storage is gone after bootcamp failed

I tried to install windows 8.1 on my MacBook Air but it failed twice.(I've done this once a couple months ago without any problems but then I removed it when I didn't need it anymore.) After the second time the disk utility showed that I have another partition but I couldn't use it so I restored it in bootcamp. At the end of the restoring process a message appeared that it failed. The partition disappeared but 30GB of my storage did as well.

Would it be enough to recover my OS X without using Time Machine to get the lost 30GB left ?

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), null

I was expecting to see messages similar to ones in Re: Boot Camp Fail.  Genius Bar struggling .

Can you boot in Safe Mode - Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up - Apple Support - and check?

Are you in Safe Mode when you get this error? If yes, boot into Internet Recovery and try the repairDisk command.

Okay so the first time i think i messed up and didn't go to internet recovery but simple(?) recovery - command+R.

Should I try the whole procedure using Internet Recovery again or just try the repairDisk command?

(yes, I was in safe mood when getting the error message)

Can you re-run the cs resizeVolume command, and then retry the First Aid in Disk Utility?

No. It will decrypt your current drive. This can take a while, and you computer needs a power connection, otherwise the FV2 removal pauses.

Start the process of disabling FV2 and you can run diskutil cs list, which will show you the status. You can also see messages in Application -> Utilities -> Console logs.
