I have read every article on your website that i could find on this topic. i cant imagine why you would make a product that had so much security built in that it renders it useless to anyone other than the original owner.

I inherited this iPad 2 from my sister who passed away from cancer and this ipad was her pride and joy and helped her to feel like she had something of value to pass on.     We are fellow users, these are user-to-user forums, you are not talking to Apple nor iTunes Support on here.

     

    You could try going to an Apple Store (make a Genius Bar appointment if you do) or try contacting iTunes Support online (https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html) and see if they can remove the iPad from her account - before they might help they are likely to want see proof that it's not yours e.g. possibly a copy of the death certificate, copy of the will leaving the iPad to you, and maybe the original receipt with the serial number on it (you could try contacting them online and ask if they will help, and if so what they want).
