Q: why is mail not showing me new gmail messages in my inbox?  It is adding new messages to old threads and not showing them as new in my mail inbox?

My mail inbox is not showing me new email messages from gmail in my inbox but shows them in a thread which I never selected.  i.e. I never chose to have all my messages assembled in a thread.  How can I simply get my new messages in my inbox separate from older messages from same sender?

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), now running 10.9.5

    Hi askingmac,

I understand that you do not want to see the messages in your Mail inbox in a conversation thread, but would instead prefer to receive them all individually. I know it's important to have control over how your computer works for you, so I'm happy to provide some direction to help with this.

    Mail (Yosemite): View conversations

Turn conversations on or off: Choose View > Organize by Conversation (a checkmark shows it’s on).

If you have more than one mailbox configured, you'll want to do this for each one that you want to disable this view.

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities, cheers!
