Q: final cut pro

I am unable to burn a DVD-R disc with either FCP or Compressor. I have tried several brands and I always get the same error message - The Burn failed because of a medium write error. I can use these discs in Toast and in other apps without any issue so I know the discs are OK. I can burn in FCP or Compressor if I use a DVD+R disc. Is this a known issue and is there any work around or fix? I am running the latest OSX, the latest version of both Apps.

I have always used DVD-Rs with no problems in the past to burn directly from FCP X but I haven't done so recently  .  .  .  there shouldn't be a problem.

However,  Toast is a much better DVD creator so you would be better off exporting a Masterful from FCP X and burning it in Toast.

If you are keen on professional looking animated DVD menus the best product is iDVD  .  .  .  long discontinued but still working well in El Capitan  (I burned a couple yesterday).
