Q: Airplay stops

I got Apple TV 4. And use my ipad to stream via airplay. Its the for the Twitch streaming app. And when i use airplay for watching a stream, its stops when i use messenger and other apps. This didnt happen to me on Apple TV 3.

    I have seen similar problems with some apps that dont support background playing. I.e. YouTube. Leaving the app pauses the stream even if you want to hear the audio.

     

    Might be a update that Twitch has made to their app that's pausing it when you exit more than the Apple TV. I don't use Twitch so cant try on mine.

    It may well be the app that uses mirroring rather than basic AirPlay. I don't have that app or know anything about it, but I can AirPlay to my Apple TV 3 and 4 with other apps and switch to messaging etc without stopping things.

    Well ive tried, HBO, netflix, and streaming through  browser (chrome) . Everytime i reply to a message in messenger it stops. So im not sure i can blame the Twitch app. As far as it seems now, this happend when i started using Apple TV 4. Never happened when i used the 3rd gen.

    As I've mentioned, it doesn't stop for me with a different app, so I'm afraid it does appear to be something to do with your app.
